Over the past 5 years, many food retailers have introduced organic lines onto their shelves with much public support and uptake. However, along with the success of organic produce their prices have continued to rise on these products, taking them out of the reach of many people.

In 2005 we set out on two projects: to raise free range, rare breed Saddleback, Gloucester Old Spot and Large Black pigs to produce first class meat products and to make them available at a fair price. Whilst we are not accredited with organic status, we raise all of our animals to the same or better standards. When the accrediting bodies drop their registration prices to an affordable level for the smallholder, then we may convert. Until then anyone is welcome to visit our farm and see for themselves our open and honest approach to farming.
